"A Common Sense Approach to the Game"

Baseball Bat Trader

There are many people I know that spend $600-$800 a year on new bats for their kids to play baseball or softball.  If you're playing baseball in Little League and a travel ball team; it's two different size bats and for brand new bats you can spend $200-$300 for each bat!  Kids grow and the bat lasts for 6-8 months before they outgrow it. Save your money ! For 75% of players- IT IS NOT THE BAT!  As a player moves from T-ball to coach pitch to live pitching you need to put the money into hitting instructors and practice if you want to be part of the other 25%!

After being around baseball and softball for the past 40 years we can honestly tell you that it is much more important to develop the right mechanics, practice and find some great coaches than to spend $200-$300 on a bat. Players that develop properly will hit a ball better, harder and more often with a $60 used bat than someone that spends hundreds of dollars on a new bat and expects great results but doesn't spend the time to develop their swing. Take some lessons with the money you will save!
