Comments about bat size:
Too many younger kids try to hit with a bat that is too heavy. At an early age it is critical to develop bat speed. This is made difficult if your child is swinging a bat that is too heavy for them.
Many All Star and Travel ball players can add up to an ounce on any of the recommendations starting at the age of 9.
If your child’s weight and height are under the 25th percentile for their age and they are 7 or younger, we recommend using a bat that is 1 ounce less than shown above.
Despite the difference in composite materials used in the bat, we still insist that nothing makes a player perform better than a lot of practice and great coaching. $300 bats don’t automatically hit balls over a fence, there’s a lot of timing, skill and coordination that goes into ripping the cover off the ball!
